OPEN POSITIONS AT CUBRE


Scientific Manager

Covenant University Bioinformatics Research (CUBRe), has an opening for a new position: a Scientific Manager (CUBRe SM), equivalent to a PostDoc. This role is expected to work closely with the CUBRe Principal Investigator (PI)/Program Director (PD) to manage CUBRe projects including the new NIH funded West African Sustainable Leadership and Innovation Training in Bioinformatics Research (WASLITBRe). The SM will be responsible to CUBRe PI/PD. The position is planned for Five years in the first instance, but this staff will be evaluated every six (6) months. To add, the Scientific Manager, need not commit 5 whole years, the reason why this position will be treated as a Postdoc position. Qualified persons from Nigeria or outside Nigeria, who has at least 1 year for Postdoc can please apply.

Secretariat Staff

Covenant University Bioinformatics Research (CUBRe) has an opening for the job of a full-time Secretariat Staff (CUBRe Sec.). This role is expected to work with the Principal Investigator (PI)/Program Director (PD) to manage CUBRe projects including the new NIH funded West African Sustainable Leadership and Innovation Training in Bioinformatics Research (WASLITBRe). The Secretariat Staff will be responsible to the CUBRe PI/PD. The position is planned for Five years in the first instance, but this staff will be evaluated every six (6) months.

PhD Position

CUBRe has recently been awarded 2 NIH and 1 German Research Foundation (aka DFG) grants. For details on the NIH grants, namely, H3AbioNet and WASLITBRe, see the following website: http://cubre.covenantuniversity.edu.ng/index.php/research-consortium.
The DFG grant was awarded to us to continue our work on the development of evolution-proof insecticides against malaria-infected mosquitoes. This is a work between a German group in Jena, Germany, and 2 nodes, that is CUBRe in Ota, Nigeria, and MRTC in Bamako, Mali. In this view, CUBRe is requesting qualified candidates to apply for multiple Ph.D. positions that will be funded by these grants.

In view of this, CUBRe is looking for qualified candidates for the position of a lab technologist. The successful candidate will be responsible to CUBRe PI/PD and will work directly with Faculty members of CUBRe core CODE MALARIA experimentalists.
